UNDP Resident Representative Received the Highest National Award, the Order of Timor-Leste

Dili, 14/06/2023 – UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Munkhtuya Altangerel, received the Order of Timor-Leste, the highest national honour granted by the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in acknowledgment of her outstanding contributions during her four-year service as UNDP Resident Representative in Timor-Leste.
The highest national award the Order of Timor-Leste was conferred on UNDP Resident Representative Ms. Munkhtuya Altangerel at the Presidential Palace on 14 June, in attendance of the UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Funmi Balogun, and representatives from the government and UNDP.
The award is bestowed upon those who demonstrated exceptional achievements and contributions to the development of the country. A wide range of UNDP support led by Resident Representative Ms. Altangerel, especially during emergency situations such as the 2021 flash floods and COVID-19 pandemic, assisted the country in responding to the challenges, finding solutions, and building resilience in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals.
