A New Project Launched to Support Human Resource Management Reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs

On 23 September, UNDP in Armenia launched a new two-year, USD 1.5 million project titled “Promoting Efficiency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs through Human Resource Management Reforms,” funded by the U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, Kristina Kvien, US Ambassador to Armenia, and Vahe Ghazaryan, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, gave opening remarks at the event.

The project will support the Ministry of Internal Affairs in reforming its human resource management system to hire and retain competent staff, reduce corruption, and improve public confidence in the police. Additionally, the project aims to further enhance the Ministry’s efficiency by strengthening staff development and talent management capacities.

“This project marks a significant milestone in our collaboration with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and I am proud that together we will contribute to the enhancement of the HRM capacities of the Ministry,” said Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia.
