Impact of war on youth in Ukraine – 2024
Impact of war on youth in Ukraine – 2024
December 2, 2024
The study was conducted as part of the annual youth survey, which has been initiated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine since 2015.
As part of a previous round of research, focused on the impacts of the full-scale invasion, the consequences of the war on the lives of young people were examined at the end of 2022, including the challenges they face, their needs, value orientations, and their perspectives on their participation in public life.
To track changes resulting from the war, a new round of research was conducted in 2024 with the aim of determining the dynamics of changes in indicators related to the perception of the current situation, challenges, and losses faced by young people in the third year of the full-scale invasion. This round also explored young people’s views on their involvement in various socially significant processes, particularly in recovery efforts. Additionally, the report provides recommendations for more effective support for young people, enhancing their civic engagement, and involving them in the country’s recovery.
The report was prepared by the research agency Info Sapiens at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, with technical and organizational support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) projects "EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine" (EU4Recovery) and "Civil Society and Youth Support," which are being implemented with funding from the European Union and the Government of Denmark.
The results of the previous study for 2022 are available on our website.
The text of the research in English will be available on 25 December 2024.
