UNDP Uzbekistan
Accelerator Lab
We work at a nexus of new expertise and practices in sustainable development, inclusive governance, and poverty reduction with unique capacities and positioning.
Accelerator Lab at UNDP Uzbekistan was set up in 2019 to promote new approaches, innovative solutions, and partnerships and push organizational R&D and learning. The Lab’s work includes pioneering the adoption of the portfolio approach, testing new solutions, and generating insights for wider UNDP programming.
Throughout its short history, the lab has pioneered crowdfunding tools, behavioral experimentation, new public-private partnership models, and various new research tools by contributing to their integration into programming in the country office and adoption by national partners.
The Uzbekistan Accelerator Lab works as part of the global network of 91 labs supporting 115 countries. Besides the global labs' network, we benefit from the support, guidance, and connections in the UNDP Innovation Community in Europe and Central Asia.
Highlights of current work:
- Adopting systemic thinking in programming through designing and activating portfolios for CO programming (Future of Work, Gender-responsive Smart Cities).
- Strategic foresight exercises with key national partners (Uzbekistan’s Green Transition Foresight, Foresight to Review National Gender Strategy)
- Gender mainstreaming initiatives (CallUmida – an alliance to address GBV in the streets, Girls in STEM)
