Migrant talent, Pa’lante
Project Owner: UNDP Perú
CREANDO is the platform of the United Nations Development Programme in Peru (UNDP Peru) that promotes entrepreneurs that belong to the migrant, refugee, and host populations. It was born in 2022 to expand opportunities for economic integration and contribute to the processes of public incidence to promote social cohesion.
Peru has become synonymous with growth for the migrant, refugee and host population. The territory houses the second largest population of Venezuelan refugees and migrants —1.5 million— and the largest number of asylum seekers in Latin America, according to UNHCR.
During two months, this platform strengthens the management skills of entrepreneurs through synchronous and asynchronous virtual channels. The learning path integrates Lean Canvas sessions, mentoring, financial education courses via WhatsApp and networking spaces with experts in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In its first edition, CREANDO convened 600 entrepreneurs with an active participation of 300 of them. More than 15 organizations are part of the platform, including United Nations agencies such as UNHCR and IOM, content partners such as Learning by Helping and WOCCU, the Association of Entrepreneurs of Peru, KUNAN, Sistema B, the Catholic University of San Pablo in Arequipa, among others.
