The InfoSegura Training Platform
PROJECT OWNER: InfoSegura-UNDP Regional Hub Panama
TrainAction is one of the InfoSegura Project's strategies to impact countries' institutional framework through targeted, ongoing, participatory, inclusive and sustainable training processes that build capacities for the management of evidence-based people-centered citizen security policies.
These processes are essential to ensure the sustainability of institutional capacities for information analysis, use and optimization. The TrainAction online platform is a gender and human rights-informed space for training, exchange and collaboration on issues of citizen security, information management for citizen security, impact assessment of security policies, violence prevention, and for effective communication of citizen security issues through data journalism.
The training and capacity building is geared towards security and justice sectors personnel, members of the technical and decision-making units of the broad spectrum of partner institutions and the staff of civil society organizations, members of academia, as well as communicators, journalists and security institutions spokespersons.
Since its implementation, the platform has trained over 3,000 participants from across Central America and the Dominican Republic. The system allows them to register online and access the content, supported permanently by instructors, tutors and content guides, enabling them to successfully complete the courses.
The TrainAction platform design is strategically aligned to the UNDP and USAID digital strategies that leverage digital technologies to drive development and recognize the privacy and information security risks involved in the use of digital tools.
