JOB FAIR BRIDGING UNEMPLOYED AND JOB SEEKERS WITH POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS TO BE HELD AS PART OF OPEN SDG DAY

The Job Fair aimed to bridge unemployed and job seekers with potential employers by offering employment specific services and provision of relevant information will be organized at Sukhbaatar Square on 10 September 2022, from 9am to 5pm. It is organized as part of “SDG Open Day”, a wider campaign hosted by the United Nations Mongolia intends to specifically promote SDG8 on Decent work and economic growth.
All interested, especially people actively looking for a job are encouraged to attend the JOB FAIR to benefit from the following variety of attractive services. Such as:
- At the Job Application Simulation Station: job seekers first will be able to have their employability skills assessed with the internationally accepted Profiling tool; then based on the results of the Profiling, receive career counselling service and finally get assistance on improving their practical skills on how to write/improve their CVs and how to successfully participate in a job interview. Moreover, attendees will have opportunity to try a mock interviews to increase their employment chances.
- At the Recruitment Agency Station: job seekers shall receive up to date information about open vacancies and skills most in demand in today’s labor market from number of national recruitment and human resources agencies. Practical advice will be also provided on how to most effectively navigate through web-based job search sites.
- At the Employer Station: job seekers will have access to open vacancy information provided by large and medium sized companies offering full time, part time, volunteer jobs and internship opportunities in agricultural, communications and service sectors. Companies plan also to collect job applications and ideally conduct initial screening of potential candidates.
- At the TVET Booth: representatives of Technical and vocational education and training institutions offering in-demand and newly developed curriculum (such as agricultural machinery operator and repairman) will provide information about their current training and enroll potential students.
This event is implemented by the European Union funded project “SDG aligned budgeting to transform employment in Mongolia” through the UNDP, FAO and ILO in collaboration with government partners, private sector and civil society stakeholders.

General Information about the Project
“SDG-aligned budgeting to transform Employment in Mongolia” project is the technical assistance (TA) component of the Budget Support Programme in Employment Reforms that the European Union (EU) has signed with the Government of Mongolia. The purpose of the project is to provide effective, accountable, and responsive public services in the field of labor relations and the employment sector. It will also support the reform of the budget and financial management system and the strengthening of institutional capacity.The TA project is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as technical lead, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The Government partners of the project are the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
