"Climate does not wait" contest of climate projects among schoolchildren

Dear schoolchildren, teachers, and educational institutions!

The UN Development Programme in Kazakhstan (UNDP) within the framework of the "Climate Box" project announces the launch of the "Climate Does Not Wait" Republican Competition of Climate Projects of Schoolchildren. 

This competition is your opportunity to show yourself and make a real difference in the world. 

We are looking for the most creative, innovative, and actionable ideas to help tackle climate challenges.

Nominations of the competition:

  1. Water is the basis of life. Projects on water conservation and efficient water use in the context of climate change. 

  2. Sun and Wind – Clean Energy of Nature: Projects that demonstrate or propose the use of renewable energy sources in households, agriculture, and other sectors of the economy

  3. Climate Habits of Living: Projects demonstrating approaches to changing social behavior and promoting sustainable climate practices 

Who can participate?

  • Children aged 12 to 14 years (in grades 6, 7 and 8).

When and how to participate?

  • Submission of applications: from July 15 to September 30, 2024 through the link. *(The deadline is extended).

  • Projects must be posted on file sharing sites with open and downloadable links given in the application.

Awards: 

The results of the competition will be announced on UNDP Kazakhstan's Instagram and Facebook by the end of September. 

The winners of the competition will be invited to the awarding ceremony and to take part in the International Climate School Festival, which will be held at the end of October 2024 in Almaty. 

Travel, accommodation, and meals for the winners will be provided at the expense of the Organizer.
