SIGOBito:
Digital management platform
for small municipalities
PROJECT OWNER: SIGOB - América Latina y El Caribe
Many municipalities need to grow their institutional capacity; this is particularly acute in small municipalities. These capacity problems are related to gaps in human talent and weaknesses in administrative and technological infrastructure, which erode the ability to respond effectively to the needs and expectations of the people in the municipality.
SIGOBito is a mechanism to support management in small local governments that combines functionalities of the main UNDP-SIGOB products: priority project management, mayoral agenda management, and communications management. SIGOBito promotes a results-based management approach, effective management, and horizontal cooperation, improving internal organization, responding to citizen needs, and monitoring territorial actors and issues.
The UNDP-SIGOB regional project provides the digital platform and the implementation team that works with the institution with a capacity development approach. A project usually includes training in results-based management, staff training, platform parameterization, hosting services, and support to ensure the sustainability of the new work processes.
