UNDP works with and supports local governance processes as enablers for SDG achievement where it matters most: at the local level. We know that local and regional governments are critical in turning Agenda 2030 and the SDGs from a global vision into a local reality. From gender equality and climate action to quality education and health care, subnational authorities are best positioned to respond to the communities’ priorities and needs, serving as a natural integrator where socio-economic issues, the environment, and cultures interlink.
